April 23 - We arrived in the USA

As many of you know, we have come back to the US temporarily to spend time with Karl's mother as she is fighting cancer. Get the details...

Here is a photo with Karl and his mother...on their way to a chemo treatment.

Karl says, "I am so thankful to have this precious time to spend with my mother. We are incredibly grateful for all the prayers and support our amazing friends have shown to us. We feel so loved!"

We will find out more about the success of Joan's cancer treatment in a scan a little over 4 weeks from now!

April 20 - You were like a father to me

At one of our good bye parties, Karl ran into one of the soccer players he had coached last year. With tears streaming down his face he said, "I just want to thank you for last season...you were like a father to me."

His dad had just been released from prison for murder.

I said, "I love you and care about you. I am excited to see what God's future is for you!"

Even though he is no longer on a team I coach, he said he was staying away from the gangs and is now being mentored by fellow All Nations workers. I love to see how God takes care of these boys!

April 2 - Boy or Girl?

One of my Ocean View girls is having a baby so we did one of those “Gender Cake Reveal Parties” (where you find out if you are having a boy or girl by cutting into the cake – the frosting inside reveals the gender of the baby – blue for boy and pink for girl).

It's a surprise for everyone at the party!

Note: Wonder how we did it? When she had the ultrasound the technician wrote down the gender and put it in an envelope. She gave the envelope to Karl and he ordered the cake with the "secret frosting" inside.

Watch the video and experience the fun and excitement for yourself!
